Shipping & Return Policies
Thank you for supporting Spindle and Spoon! Every order helps support small farms, traditional fiber arts, and handmade craftsmanship. Please review the policies below before placing your order.
Shipping
Orders are typically shipped within 3–5 business days. During busy seasons, sales events, or holidays, processing times may be slightly longer.
All orders are shipped through the carrier selected at checkout, usually United States Postal Service (USPS). Tracking information will be provided once your order ships.
Please double-check your shipping address before completing your purchase. Spindle and Spoon is not responsible for delays or lost packages caused by incorrect addresses provided at checkout.
Once a package has been accepted by the shipping carrier, delivery times are outside of my control. If your package appears lost or delayed, please contact the carrier first. If you need additional assistance, feel free to reach out and I will do my best to help.
Returns & Exchanges
Due to the handmade and fiber-related nature of many products, returns and exchanges are accepted on a limited basis.
Unused, unopened items may be returned within 14 days of delivery. The buyer is responsible for return shipping costs unless the item arrived damaged or an error was made in fulfilling the order.
To be eligible for a return, items must be in their original condition and packaging.
Please contact me before sending a return so I can provide return instructions. After I receive the item, your return will be processed within 3 business days.
Handmade Items
Handmade products, including handwoven items, handspun accessories, naturally dyed goods, and other one-of-a-kind creations, are generally not eligible for return unless they arrive damaged or there is an error with the order.
Small variations in color, texture, and appearance are a natural part of handmade work and are not considered defects.
Fiber & Yarn
Fiber, roving, sliver, rolags, batts, and yarn may be returned only if they are unused and in original condition.
Please note that colors may appear differently on different screens. Naturally dyed fibers and yarns may also contain slight variations between dye lots, which is part of their handmade nature.
Damaged or Incorrect Orders
If your order arrives damaged or you receive the wrong item, please contact me within 7 days of delivery. Include photographs of the item and packaging so I can help resolve the issue as quickly as possible.
A Note About Naturally Dyed Fibers & Yarns
Naturally dyed fibers and yarns are created using dyes derived from plants, minerals, and insects. While I take care to thoroughly rinse and finish each batch, some colors—especially darker shades on spinning fiber—may release a small amount of excess dye during the first wash or two of your finished project. Additionally, indigo-dyed fibers may stain your fingers blue while spinning. This is considered normal. After a couple washes, your project will no longer release dye.
To help preserve your finished projects, always hand wash in cold water. If you are concerned about color transfer, especially in multicolored projects or items paired with light colors, consider using a Color Catcher® sheet during washing. These are commonly available in the laundry detergent aisle of most grocery and department stores.
As with all naturally dyed textiles, slight color changes over time are part of the beauty and character of working with natural dyes.
